Esta noche The Hollywood Foreign Press Association ha otorgado los Globos de Oro en ceremonia de los 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards. La ceremonia fue emitida por la NBC  des del Beverly Hilton Hotel en Beverly Hills, California, presentada por las actrices  Tina Fey y Amy Poehler, estrellas del show televisivo Saturday Night live.

Sólo horas después del «bombazo» en las nominaciones a los Oscar, los críticos concedieron a Argo los premios de mejor film y dirección. Y esta noche, han sido los Globos de Oro quienes han ampliado su excelso palmarés. El film de Ben Affleck se ha llevado los galardones de mejor película dramática y mejor director, lo que la convierten en la gran triunfadora de la noche. «Me siento el hombre más afortunado del mundo», comentó Affleck a la prensa tras la conclusión de una gala y sin querer hacer una mención explícita a su ausencia en los Oscar. En los últimos 80 años, sólo Paseando a Miss Daisy (Driving Miss Daisy, 1989) ha conseguido llevarse la estatuilla de mejor cinta del año sin que su director estuviera en el quinteto de candidatos. Una excepción a la que Argo podría unirse este año.

Lincoln, la favorita para muchos a los Oscar, sólo pudo contentarse con el premio al mejor actor dramático para Daniel Day-Lewis. El intérprete agradeció a Steven Spielberg, director de la cinta, por la oportunidad que le dio para encarnar a Abraham Lincoln en esa producción. «Una experiencia que atesoraré hasta el final de mi vida», comentó Day-Lewis. El film era el más nominado con siete candidaturas pero a punto estuvo de irse de vacío de la ceremonia.

En el apartado de comedia, Los miserables se llevó tres de los principales premios: mejor película de comedia/musical, mejor actor (Hugh Jackman) y mejor actriz secundaria (Anne Hathaway). Jackman tuvo también palabras de agradecimiento a su esposa, «la mujer más genial del mundo», según manifestó, por convencerle para que continuara en el rodaje de Los Miserables cuando le surgieron dudas sobre su capacidad para hacer el personaje. Por su parte, Anne Hathaway se mostró muy emocionada al recibir este galardón tras haber estado nominado en dos ocasiones anteriores y se lo dedicó al equipo de la película y a su marido. El lado bueno de las cosas, la gran rival del musical, se tuvo que conformar con el premio de mejor actriz de comedia para la jovencísima Jennifer Lawrence.

Quentin Tarantino fue otro de los grandes triunfadores al conseguir que su película se llevara los premios de mejor guión y mejor actor secundario (Christoph Waltz) por Django desencadenado. Tampoco se fueron de vacío La Vida de Pi (mejor banda sonora) y La noche más oscura, con el premio a mejor actriz dramática para Jessica Chastain. Entre lágrimas y nerviosa, la intérprete aseguró que el premio supone un «sueño absoluto hecho realidad» y recordó los tiempos en los que a pesar de sus esfuerzos no lograba las oportunidades ni el reconocimiento que ahora recibe. «Esto es alentador», dijo la actriz.
