Ya se conocen los nominados a la 18º edición de los Satellite Awards, entregados por la International Press Academy. En esta edición hay una cinta que parte como favorita, incluso para el resto de nominaciones para otros premios que están por llegar. Se trata de “12 years Slave” la película de Steve McQueen, que en esta ocasión, tal y como sucedió en los Independent Spirit Awards, es la máxima favorita con 10 nominaciones, entre las que están la de mejor director, película o mejor actor.
Entre los nominados encontramos ilustres como Woody Allen, como mejor director por Blue Jasmine, los Hermanos Coen por su Inside Llewyn Davis y a Martin Scorses por su The Wolf of Wall Street. También hay grandes nombres entre los nominados a la categoría de Mejor actor o mejor actor secundario, como todo un clásico Tom Hanks, nominado por partida doble por sus papeles en Capitán Phillips y por su interpretación de Walt Disney (actor secundario en Saving Mr.Banks).
